DON'T DIS THE DISH

CABLE VERSUS SATELLITE DISH

Having a small satellite dish mounted on the edge of my roof pointing at the southern sky does look a little different from when I didn't have one but it's not so bad. I think it gives my property a hi-tech image plus it's a conversation starter.

When I had C.....t cable TV nothing was noticeably visible on the outside of the house but there sure was something noticeable about my monthly bill. It had jumped up higher than I bargained for since the company began revamping its packages. Not only that, I didn't see any improvement in their service or my individual program package. Just MORE money!

When I first bought my home it was already wired for cable as the previous owner had evidently wanted it. I just kept it and signed up for the service. It was OK and although the bill was a bit high I could live with it.

One of the things I'd see on TV a lot though was C.....t's commercials putting down dish TV. They'd say how bad reception could be during windy or rainy days and that H.D. availability wasn't nearly as available as with C.....t. What did I know? They're the experts, right?

Then one day I was on the other side of town and happened to be driving by C.....t's facility and noticed something that made me angry. There in plain site mounted strategically along the perimeter of their modern building were several large dish antennas. They download all the TV program signals from satellites and then redistribute them using either standard copper wire or fiber optics to the local consumers.

I remembered C.....t's commercials and the deception they were passing off as fact to viewers. I don't like being lied to and I especially don't like my intelligence to be insulted. So, yes I was angry. I guess they figure we're all just couch potatoes who don't have enough brain matter or curiosity to investigate the truth about satellite TV or the fallacy concerning cable.
